About Dr. Chica

Dr. Moises A. Chica is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina. He earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University and founded the Thomas Avenue Beverage Company in Dallas before attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Dr. Chica then completed his internship in internal medicine in San Antonio at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He then finished an ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, where he was chief resident. After this, Dr. Chica spent two years in Houston completing a surgical retina fellowship at Retina and Vitreous of Texas.

Dr. Chica is fluent in English and Spanish. Outside the office, he enjoys guitar, bicycling, computers, travel, hiking, snow skiing and photography.
